Backups is exclusively a paid service. Backups are an important part of web site administration. When you keep backup copies of your website’s files and configurations in a safe location, you can use them to restore your web site in the event something happens that prevents it from functioning correctly.

On all shared hosting servers we take daily, weekly and monthly (resources permitting) backups of all cPanel/Plesk accounts in full (meaning it includes website files, MySQL/MSSQL databases, emails, etc...) This however does not mean our backups are 1 day, 1 week and 1 month old respectively.

Backups older than 30 days will be overwritten with a newer backup, and it is the customer's responsibility to download a backup before it is overwritten if the customer wishes to keep that copy of their data. So at some point in the month all three backups will be just 1 day old (as the backup routine runs daily). For this reason we ask our clients not to rely on our backups for instances where they may need to restore their account to a previous state due to a website editing mistake or a Word press upgrade error or may be any of the other reason. Backups are not included as part of any service. It is the customer's sole responsibility to make backups and save them elsewhere off server. Availability of server backups is not guaranteed and we are not responsible for loss of customer data. Customers are advised to make backups of the information they store on our servers on a regular basis. Our control Panel provides tools that allow customers' to make data backups, download data, download backups, etc.

Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. You agree to back-up all of your User Content so that you can access and use it when needed. Dollar2Host does not warrant that it backs-up any Account or User Content, and you agree to accept as a risk the loss of any and all of your User Content.

You as a Dollar2Host User agree that in no case, Dollar2Host can be held responsible for the loss of data in any circumstances.

Clients who have subscribed for paid backup service with shared and reseller hosting plans. For such clients, we take daily backup of database with retention period of 7 days. Website backup will be taken weekly with retention period of 1 day.

Clients using cPanel Backup Manager tool for backups should download the backup from the server and delete it. On every Sunday, all the backup files are removed from the server without any notification. You are not allowed to use the hosting space to store backups.

A "Backup/Restore" feature is included in cPanel/Plesk with each hosting plan and you can use this tool to back up your files

If you want us to take a backup of your shared account you need to sign up our “Add on service-backup” while ordering the service. If you have not availed the service while ordering you can place a ticket to our support department and ask for the service.

E-Mail Backups

Your e-mail messages are located in the "mail" directory of your home directory, and are therefore backed up automatically.

However, we can only back up messages that are actually on our servers. This includes all new (unread) mail and all mail you can see in Webmail. It will not include old (previously read) incoming messages if you read mail using a program like Outlook on your own computer and you've configured that e-mail program to delete messages from the server when you read them.

So if you use your own mail program instead of webmail, and that program deletes messages from the server after they've been read, your computer will have the only copy of the old messages. You'd need to back up your own computer to make a backup of that old incoming mail and your sent mail.

If you want our backup system to store copies of your old incoming messages, too, you should make sure your mail program leaves messages on our servers after you read them. With an IMAP connection, this will happen automatically; with a POP connection, you may need to change a setting in your mail program.

    • Backup of an Active Account

      Since Backup is an Addon Service, you need sign up this while ordering the hosting service. So when you will ask for backups, we will create/generate & provide complimentary copies of any backup content available with us at that moment. Please refer the below mentioned table for the cost & size of the account for backups.

    • Backup of a Suspended Account

      In order to generate a backup of an account, status of the account should be “ACTIVE”.

      However if you wish to take a backup of suspended account and do not want to renew it further then you need to pay $25/account as a one time activation fee in order to reactivate the account. Once you pay the above said amount your account will get activated. Backups can be downloaded from clients end within 48 hours once paid after which the account will be deactivated and removed from our servers.

    • Backup of the same account

      you need to pay the fees applicable for backup generation & as per the size of the backup you wish to create of an active account given in the chart.

    • Subscribed to the backup policy

      If at anytime you have placed a restore request and have not subscribed for backup Policy, our team will check and if there are courtesy backups available then you have 2 options :
      Option 1. To subscribe to the backup policy after which our team will help with the restore request maintain further backups of your account.
      Option 2. If however you do not wish to subscribe to backups for any reason then the restore will cost you a one time fee of $14.99 .

    • Backup of a Suspended/Cancelled Account

      If you wish to take a backup of your cancelled account, you need to contact to our Support team via live chat or you can place ticket and ask for backups, if backups are available or not. If Backups are available up to 50 GB you can ask for backups with following conditions:

      • Condition 1

        since the account is already cancelled it will cost you a fee of $34.99 as a onetime reactivation fee. Once you pay the above said amount your account will get activated. Backups can be downloaded from clients end within 48 hours once paid after which after which the account will be deactivated and removed from our servers. If you wish us to generate the available backup for you, you need to pay the fees applicable for backup generation & as per the size of the backup you wish to generate of an active account given above in the chart.

  • Backups for Reseller Hosting

    As a reseller hosting provider you need to take care of backups of your client’s website, however we will help you to take care of that by providing an extra storage space as per your needs You can upgrade your backup plan at any time. Simply choose from the following packages while signing up the hosting plan. We will create the backup of account data or no of accounts whichever is less as per the table.

      Backup of suspended/cancelled reseller account totally depends on size & availability of the backup as well as number of accounts under the reseller.
